Batman is a fictional crime fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne created by comic book artist Bob Kane. He is often referred to as "The Caped Crusader", "The Dark Knight", and "The World's Greatest Detective".
In his own universe, Batman dedicates his life to fighting crime as a way of "cleaning up" Gotham City after his parents were shot by a mugger. In Ephemeral Rift's universe he is depicted similarly, albeit also having taken a second job painting people's faces as an alternative source of income due to Gotham undergoing a financial crisis.
